We were among the top companies in the 8th edition of the MERCO Responsabilidade Corporativa ESG list, which recognizes companies for their efforts on environmental, social, and governance issues. GPA ranked 2nd in Retail, 9th in the Environment category, and was among the top 20 companies overall.
We received a WEPs award - Companies Empowering Women in the silver category for large corporates. The biannual awards, organized by UN Women Brazil, recognize companies for their initiatives to empower women in Brazil by promoting gender equality and social inclusion.
We ranked 1st place in the Corporate Census Category in the second edition of the Corporate Racial Equality Index compiled by the Business Initiative for Racial Equality.
We were selected for the 17th Portfolio of the Brazilian stock exchange’s (B3) Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE). The ISE recognizes companies promoting good environmental, social and corporate governance practices. The Portfolio comprises 46 initiatives from 46 companies in 17 different sectors and covers the period January 03 to December 30, 2022.
Since 2011, we have also been a constituent of the B3 Carbon Efficient Index (ICO2), which brings together companies that demonstrate a commitment to transparency around their emissions and are preparing for a low-carbon economy.
We received an “A-” rating from the Carbon Disclosure Program (CDP), one of the leading initiatives for measuring awareness, risk management and good practices around climate change. This is a first for us, and it has placed us as the top-ranked food retailer in South America.
We were also selected to the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) among 418 companies from 45 countries and regions. We are one of only 13 Brazilian companies and the only national retailer on this prestigious list.
We annually publish sustainability reports that highlight our main initiatives and provide transparency on our commitments and progress.
